It does stink that we're so far from family. It is hard. Really, really hard. Absolutely the hardest thing I've ever had to manage. Here's my strategy for those days: You know that list of stuff you need to accomplish? Toss it out the door and concentrate on getting through the next half hour. Then, do that again. Lie on the couch, turn on the DVD player and cut yourself a break. It won't kill those brilliant kids to get a bit more screen time than usual for a few days. Also, turn on the outside spigot, give them some buckets and just sit. Kids and water; as you know they are inseparable (for long periods of time). Hang in there. This too shall pass.

I'm sorry. Hope you feel better soon. I bet it sucked for your hubby also, having to leave for work when he'd rather have stayed home to help (or... maybe not so much...)

Oh no, not again! What a total drag.
I wish I could jump in a car right now and come help you. Sadly, it has been all about work, work, work today and tomorrow and then one little day off and then more work. (I am taking a secret break, reading your blog.)
But you are family and I would be there in an instant if I could.
Truly. Hang tough.
