Another in a series of “Sometimes My Job Is Extremely Cool” posts: I am flying to London on Saturday to interview a Big Time Movie Star.
I’ll let that sink in for a moment…
That is not a joke. It’s a case of “right place, right time” and also “adequate childcare coverage available.”
Now I commence freaking out because I’ve never been anywhere more exotic than Orlando for work (unless you count Ruidoso, NM) and I am going to try to hide the fact that I am a harried mother of two who rarely has the opportunity to dress up and take trains and use my passport and stand around coolly saying things like “cello” and “arse.”
Because THIS is what my life looks like “back in the States:”

Aw, aren’t you going to tell us who it is? Not even a hint?
omigod!!!! See if you can get a picture for my “collection!” That would be a so cool xmas present.
WOW, call me, I can give you tips.
how long are you staying?
Ooh, have fun! I’m more excited about the solo trip away for you, then the Big Movie Star, although that is way cool as well.
How exciting!!!! Can’t wait to hear who the big time movie star is!!!!!!
Oh, so cool! Have a great time. Any hints on who this star is???
Holy crap! That’s so exciting.
All I know is that you can still wear fur in Europe. That’s why I love it so…
Sounds awesome! Can’t wait to hear about the interview AND the trip when you get back. I hope to SOMEDAY get a stamp in my passport….
If the star is Daniel Craig, I’m hiding in your luggage.
and where will your interview appear? so’s we can all drool over your words.
