Among my best girlfriends from college, I am one of 3 who are currently pregnant. One of us started early and has three children already. Another just gave birth in October to her first. Another is due in four weeks, I’m due in April, and another is due in the summer. We all have different situations – nannies or daycare, husbands or not. But we are all career women who must eventually struggle with the stereotypical working mom situation. I’ll put it off as long as I can, but I know it’s inevitable.
What’s cool is that we’re learning from each other. Since we are all scattered about the country, we have been surveying each other for the last few days via email about nursery equipment, baby clothes, words of wisdom, etc. This is the virtual village it will take to raise our children.
The other purpose the email info is serving is to FREAK ME OUT ENTIRELY. I am SO NOT PREPARED. There is SO MUCH STUFF one needs to get ready for one tiny little baby. Thank God I’m taking time off before he comes, because I sure have a lot of shopping to do.
