For those of you who don’t know, WWC is a community challenge posed by OddMix for us to post pictures that illustrate certain words each week. When I started participating, I had grand dreams of the art I would create. I was inspired by OddMix and his interpretations of his own photos and words.
Everyone else who participates, it seems, has some kind of talent that I do not have. Their pictures are so good. I strive to be a “photographer” but mostly I just take pictures. And every weekend I think I will set out to take a picture that means “dare” or “beauty” or whatever the words are.
But as they say, part of accepting who you are is accepting who you are not. In that spirit, I have resigned myself to the pattern that has emerged: I usually take a bunch of pictures over the weekend, then I look through them to see if any fit the words OddMix has posted for us. This weekend, on a hunch, I did snap that photo of my bed after Kyle bounced around on it. I did have WWC in mind, but I didn’t know if it would work.
That’s why every week my photos are of Kyle, with few exceptions.

For a second there I thought you weren’t going to play anymore. I was like, “Nooooooo!”
In my head of course. ๐
There is no “better” here. It’s an interpretation of art. Van Gogh was misunderstood too ya know.
Yeah, but don’t go cutting off your ear or anything.
Seriously though, Tink got it right. I (and dare I say we) enjoy seeing how you “say” the words each week. Sometimes “just taking pictures” is the thing to do. Sometimes I feel like I got the perfect picture. Sometimes I think “man, I’m reaching here.”
Bottom line is have fun – no explanations or appologies are needed if you are doing that.
I agree. It is the fun of playing that matters ๐ Plus, I dig seeing pictures of Kyle!
Right now, your greatest work of art is Kyle…why wouldn’t you want to show him off??
Maybe you’ll get artsy, maybe you won’t. You have to do what makes you happy, and what works for you. In the meantime, we’ll all enjoy your beautiful boy!
