Note to self: feed Kyle dinner before taking him trick-or-treating. Otherwise, he will attempt to run back and forth across the street, not wanting to hold your hand, and when given no other option, he will throw himself on the ground in the middle of the street kicking and screaming. This is no way to enjoy oneself on Halloween night.
After this happened, I threw little Super Kyle over my shoulder and took him home. Fortunately it was still early, so I fed him dinner, then I let him help Daddy open the door for other kids looking for candy. When he was ready, Kyle started following the other kids away from our house, so we went back out. He had more fun running after the big kids than getting candy, but after a little while his patience with me wore out and he reverted to screaming every time I wouldn’t let him run into the street, so we went back home.
It was a lot easier last year when he didn’t even know how to crawl. But all in all, it was a success, because all of the neighbors got to see him in his cute little outfit, and Mom and Dad got some candy to eat!

The “puppy” and I did trick or treating, with friends and colleauges thinking I was doing it for me (which I kind of was). BUT Jackson loved his puppy costume, we got to see the neighbors, mommy got treats (the FAV – a glass of wine from the ND house!!! Go IRISH), but the most fun we had was stomping/crunching the leaves on the back patio (shout out to Noah’s mommy if she reads your blog) as we put away the wagon, then sharing 2 Reece’s on the toy-filled floor.
Very cute Superman!!! Hang in there with the IRS (The puppy’s daddy is a tax man too, but he does sales tax, so please don’t hate him).
HEY – That was from me. Somehow I got anonymous.
But Super Kyle doesn’t need to hold his mommy’s hand. He’s invincible! haha
That is when you have daddy pick him up by the zipper on the back of the costume so he can “fly” from house to house.
Also, the weekend words are up.
Mommy, you are such a bummer. The street is long and wide and clear and PERFECT for running, *especially* at night. Clearly I am misunderstanding the issue.
What a cute picture. Your son is adorable! And I’m partial to Kyles, since I have a Kyle, too.
Sorry to hear about the tantrums, but it’s nice to know my kid isn’t the only one.
