Today is the eleventh day of the April A to Z Challenge. During this month I will be writing blog posts every day (with breaks on Sundays) about the topic “Sh*t I Say” starting with each consecutive letter of the alphabet. This is one crazy project, y’all.
Knock it off!

When the kids get too loud, or too smacky, or too annoying, or too rough, or too TOO, I yell “Knock it off!” if I am not right next to them where I can communicate this same idea with a stern look or a physical separation from the person or thing that they are bothering.
Except a lot of times my East Coast comes out and it winds up sounding more like “Knock it awf!”

There is also an additional Sh*t I Say for letter K:
Kiss Mama!
My friend Karen used to say this to her baby, back when our kids were babies – our first kids, that is, so this was nearly 7 years ago. Kyle turned 7 yesterday. My, my. How time flies. He used to be a chubby, round, enormous baby and now he is a tall, thin, elbowy boy with big teeth and a brain that moves faster than anyone else around him.
Karen would say “Kiss Mama!” in her very slight Filipino accent, and I picked that one up and I still say it, with the same accent, to my kids now, before I plant a big one square in the middle of their cheeks. No matter how tall and thin and bony they are, they are still so kissable.

My version of “Knock it Off!!!” Is “STOP” or “ENOUGH”. My Kiss Momma is simply “Kisses.” Love these, Kim. Yesterday I waited ALL DAY. Hopefully I will pay more attention at work since you got this off early!! Love you. me.
My mom also said something similar, but she has this deathstare that works better. And has long-range capability. ;-P
I say this, too. Sometimes you just have to. Great to find you through A-Z. Since 2004, you really are an original “mommy blogger” lol.
Accents fascinate me and I shall be saying ‘Knock it off’ to nobody in particular in a variety of accents all day:-)
