I’m almost four months pregnant now…I am not showing AT ALL but I now only have 3 pairs of pants that fit comfortably. More laundry. Just what I needed. I even went shopping and bought some new pants, but the next day my existing pants were too small. Huh.
On my shopping expedition I picked up a pot of The Body Shop’s Cocoa Butter Body Butter. On a pregnancy message board somebody had recommended it for prevention of stretch marks. I thought “how bad could they be?” And then I saw a stretch marks photo gallery…
Now I spread the Body Butter all over me twice a day. And it smells like chocolate. It’s like I’m covering myself with chocolate cream. I can smell it all day long – thank God it’s almost Halloween, and lots of people in the office have plenty to share.

Hi Honey,
I don’t think it matters how much stuff you slather on yourself. Stretchmarks have to do with how elastic your skin is. Hopefully, you’ve got better genes than I’ve got!
Mom
Go ahead and enjoy the cocoa cream, but if you are doomed to stretch marks there isn’t really much that you can do to prevent them.
P.S. You know where I got stretch marks? On my milk-laden boobs when I was breastfeeding. Nobody warned me about that- I thought I had some weird infection at first! Fortunately they didn’t really leave any scars.
Hi! Hey, I’ve finally “met” someone who is experiencing pregnancy at the same time as me at almost the same rate. I’m 15 weeks today, and I am 1) NOT SHOWING (drat) 2) feeling bloated 3)uncharacteristically short-tempered. Also, I’m totally itchy and that keeps me up at night. Thanks for giving me a place to post. Good luck with the body butter, and good luck to you and yours in general. 🙂
