I Held Out For 30 Comments

Thank you all for your good wishes and your happiness for us: my family and real-life friends of course, and my special internet buddies. I must tell you that one of the most exciting parts about this pregnancy so far was planning the “announcement post.” I wondered if I should copy Katie and post something like this:

Or if I should just come out and say it, or if I should make subtle hints and see who picked up on it first. I like the way it came out, though.

Of course I have so much more to say about all of this now that it’s public, but I’m so very, very tired. I’m plagued with the typical first-trimester blues (all day nausea, heartburn, fatigue) and on top of that Kyle has gotten himself a case of hand-foot-and-mouth disease. Not to worry – it’s a harmless viral rash, but it’s very contagious and he’s been home from daycare for the past 2 days. Stewart and I tag-teamed today which means I am staying up late and doing some work from home. But of course Kyle dragged me around all day (I taught him to grab my hand instead of my leg hair) and I couldn’t even sit down at the computer until just now.

I’d better get started before I fall asleep sitting here and wake up only when my head hits the keyboard.
