Parentricity is a new social networking site designed for parents with young children. I am a featured blogger whose posts show up in the right hand column (accompanied by my favorite recent picture of myself, from our 2006 Christmas photo. Okay, that one is a year old, but new readers don’t know that.)
For the site to benefit from you reading, you should sign up for a membership (it’s FREE!) which will boost their numbers and increase advertising revenue and increase my paycheck, in theory.
I am excited to have been hired. The job application process went like this, all in emails:
Blogging Buddy: Hey Kim, there’s a new site looking for writers. Email Editor Guy.
Me: Dear Editor Guy, I want to write for your site. Check out my blog, House of Prince, and the other place I write in public, The Mommy Times.
Editor Guy: Great stuff! You’re hired!
That seemed pretty easy. Either he was desperate for writers or my stuff really is great. Or the referral from Blogging Buddy said it all. Thanks, Blogging Buddy! I always wondered how people got those paid blogging jobs. Turns out it’s just like everything else: it’s who you know. I owe that guy a beer, which I will buy after I get a paycheck.
Hmmm, the Parentricity link brings you to a site that is not working yet. Is that right? I could have sworn I saw the site weeks ago.
