(The abysmal disorganization of my photo collection limits me here, because I only have a few minutes.)
I often say “I’ve never been anywhere,” but I was thinking about it this morning because of this announcement and I realize I’ve been to some pretty cool places. A lot of them are right here in the good old U.S.A. Arches National Park. Bellevue, Washington. The Grand Canyon. The beach in Palos Verdes, CA where the pebbles clack together as the waves pull off the shore making the most beautiful music. Covington, GA, a random little tiny beautiful town outside of Atlanta where I met Harry Connick, Jr. Miami Beach. A bar called O’Malley’s. An Elvis wedding in Vegas. A basement cabaret bar in London.
Damn, girl. Someone once said to me “You have such an interesting life.” Coming from her it was such a compliment that I could only blush in disbelief. We all have interesting lives, when we look at them from the outside. But only some of us like to broadcast about them all over the internet. Here’s to Uptake for giving me a vehicle with which to shout from the rooftops. Now click on over there so they’ll take me seriously and send me to some of these awesome conferences this year.

I used to live in Bellevue, WA and I met my wife in a bar called O’Malley’s.
We have so much in common.
Would that O’Malley’s bar be in St. Louis?
Nope, it is in Illinois, where U of I is. Right, Lisa?
