I don’t feel so good these days. I think I’m fighting off a cold or something. Let’s just say I’ve put the “no alcohol during the week” and “no eating less than 2 hours before bedtime” plan on hold this week because of that, and I’m feeling it. To cheer myself up, here’s a photo heavy post.
In the past few weeks, here’s what happened, not necessarily in chronological order:
1. My grandparents and aunt and uncle came to visit. Aunt Kathy took 1,456 pictures, and I am still going through them all. She took the picture I used to update my profile. She also took these:

3. Halloween. Brady got to participate fully in trick-or-treating this year. He was totally into it, and was happy when the first piece of candy hit the bottom of his bucket. He sat right down on the sidewalk, ready to call it a night, as if to say “You had me at candy!”
4. Kyle had his blood drawn this morning for an allergy workup. I prepped him by capitalizing on his fascination with bodily functions (his favorite book at daycare is “Scabs”) and explaining exactly what would happen. Why not start him off without a fear of needles, right? He sat in my lap and cried when the needle went in but did not move or flinch and watched as his blood bubbled into three vacutainers. The tech let him hold one, and he commented on how warm it was.
5. Brady was evaluated for allergies, too, but the doctor declared that he has only a sensitivity to berries and citrus, and therefore the redness and rashiness that appears around his mouth is not a worry. I still worry, because that is just what I do. However, he is psyched that he gets to have dairy again.

Those cupcakes are soooo good. I recently went to a wedding where the cupcakes served as the “cake”. There were 3 different flavors and a candy symbol on top let you know which cupcake was which. And then someone told me how many calories each cupcake has while I was eating it 🙁 … yeah, I ate it anyway.
Love Kyle examining the tube of blood. You may have a future doc on your hands
Love the pics. I can’t believe how brave Kyle appears with the blood. We had to do a draw at the 2 year appointment and it was the worst thing we have done. Okay, the wake up from surgery was the worst, but this was second.
Hope you feel better soon.
2 more days! Pray I stay healthy!
You are the most fun mom. Who the hell puts a traffic cone on her head? Where has that cone been? No wonder your hair ended up like that! Just kidding. Love your boys. Can I come hug them soon?
Wow… all that blood from that little boy?
And seeing those tubes brings back memories…
