Songs That Stab Me in the Heart: “No One’s Gonna Love You” by Band of Horses

September 12, 2013 Kim Tracy Prince 5 Comments

no one's gonna love you

This tune is courtesy of my “The Shins” channel on Pandora, which tends to play depressing hipster love songs, and I just had it on while I was writing businessy stuff, but then there was that one moment when I stopped to pay attention.

Anything to make you smile
You are the ever-living ghost of what once was
I never want to hear you say
That you’d be better off
Or you liked it that way

So yeah, this is for you and your ghost.

I love that song. Though the number of losers who have said those words to me makes me believe those are mostly the utterings of a guy in his ex-boyfriend throes.

Music & driving go hand in hand for me. Kid music is not allowed – little L knows not to ask. It’s my car, my music. I’m feeling kind of Foo today!!

That song really hits deep—there’s something so raw and haunting about “No One’s Gonna Love You” that just stays with you long after it ends. I love how music like this can express those complex feelings we sometimes struggle to put into words. It reminds me of the kind of emotional storytelling I seek out on PlayPelis APK, where movies and shows capture that same bittersweet vibe. Do you have other songs or artists that you turn to when you want to feel all the feels?
