Oh, you are SO way more awesome than Dooce (who, frankly, I think is more than a bit clueless) … I, too, work to pay “The Man” and think the Mommy Wars are ridiculous. Like you, I feel guilty and hate leaving my baby every day. And I feel guilty that I am sometimes glad to leave her, for the job I get paid to do is SO much easier than the job of taking care of her! Yet at the end of the day I am always so glad to have her in my arms again. She is always in my heart, when we are together and when we are apart.
Great article! You always make me laugh! I’m glad you are happy and that everyone is doing well. Please answer my question about the fish in previous comments.
Well said (& you are SO way cooler than Dooce!) As you know, I don’t have kids yet – but even I am struck by the Mommy wars..just walking into Barnes & Noble shows how everyone has an opinion (& a publisher!) about who is right & who is wrong. It makes me want to scream – “Get over it already, do what works, & raise your kids the best way you can!”
I am happy to hear it sounds like you, Stewart, & Kyle are going with the “new” flow quite nicely.
I havn’t read Dooce in ages, so I don’t know if you are referring to something specific, but generally speaking you are so way cooler then dooce.
I am having a work at home day, which is good because your article made me cry. Isn’t it funny- everyone is happy but the guilt still doesn’t go away?
The link is the title of the post “Pro Bono” which is a dig regarding the fact (or at least my assumption) that HA gets paid for her posts on Alphamom. Since you know, she doesn’t get out of bed for under 15,000 a day anymore.
Love the article!
Why is it that EVERY article about kids makes me want to have a kid? Not only the cute, cuddly articles, but the ones about how it’s the hardest thing you’ll ever do.
Sigh.
