I’m always on the lookout for the next big thing in terms of facial cleanser and moisturizer, and now, let’s face it – eye cream. So when Mama Mio contacted me to say “hey great to meet you at BlogHer in New York this summer” I was sad that I didn’t remember meeting their rep or seeing a sample of their products. I went with the honest approach, and was rewarded with a trio of their products to try.
Mama Mio is a company started by a handful of beauty experts in London who had the goal of creating effective, non-toxic skincare products. Their tagline is “Fit skin for life,” and in each product there is a little pamphlet that includes detailed information about its ingredients, plus a little tutorial about how to do exercises…with your face.
I tried their version of the above-mentioned skincare products for a month, and because I find them useful and quite good, I am still using them.
Clean Slate ($32) – the first thing I noticed about this cleanser is the very strong lavender scent. It’s an amber gel-like cleanser that does not suds up very much, but it’s effective at washing my skin without leaving it too dry.
Mighty Moisture ($48) – this product is my favorite because its scent is light and true to its messaging, one little pump is all you need to moisturize your whole face and neck because it glides on and does the job. This is good news – the 1.7 oz. bottle should last a long time and for the price, it’s a good fit for me.
Eye Know ($39) – I’m a little bit more skeptical about eye serums and creams but I want to believe that they will work to make the wrinkles around my eyes fade. With Eye Know, Mama Mio’s instructs the user to apply to the area around the eyes in a circular motion, 20-30 times in each direction. I wouldn’t normally follow these directions because who has the time? but since I was paying extra close attention for this review I stuck to the rules. I still can’t tell if it made a visible difference but I feel better about taking the extra 30 seconds to take care of myself. I do it for you, and it benefits me. We all win.
I received complimentary full-size products from Mama Mio to facilitate this review. A trial size trio of the products is available for $29 with free shipping AND they accept PayPal so you can just use your fake money and it won’t hurt a bit.
