Okay, I am not proud of this, but I feel like I have to write this story because it is part of my pregnancy and I must warn other pregnant women to BE CAREFUL! I’m definitely blaming this occurence on my pregnancy because if I don’t I will be much more disappointed in myself.
On Valentine’s Day I ran out to do a quick errand in my brand new car. Turning into the lot of a shopping plaza, I happily grazed a Camry parked on the street just south of the driveway. I drove that car like I was at an amusement park and had paid admission to smash cars into each other. I had NO IDEA I was so close. No idea. Normally I am a pretty good driver. You’d think I would be more aware of things, but I fear my new bodily disfunction has extended itself to my car, too. It’s that weird thing when you are pregnant, in which your body expands to 2.5 times its normal size, and it happened too fast for you to get used to it, and you bump into people, door jams, door knobs, dogs, etc. because you didn’t realize you were so close to them.
So now my wonderful new car is broken, and I’m dealing with the insurance company and a body shop and the other car’s owner. For yes, I did leave a note on the parked car, because it’s the right thing to do.
