Okay, so I’m skipping around a bit in the sequence of events lately, but hey, it’s my blog, and I can skip around if I want to. Basically, I finally wrote down all of the things that I need to blog about, and every time I have a moment to make a post I just pick a topic that feels right. If I make myself go in chronological order then I will get stuck and never write anything.
Halloween was extra fun because MomHOP and DadHOP were here this year, plus we had TWO trick-or-treaters. Also, with built-in babysitters, Stew and I got to go to a party with Auntie Lisa. Here’s me with Ugly Betty, who I treated like a celebrity. I could not get enough of her, and I stalked her until she took a picture with me.
Yes, I am dressed like a fat, nearsighted Little Red Riding Hood. My husband, dressed as the Big Bad Werewolf, had a lot more fun than originally planned, and used the occasion to howl at the moon.
The next day was Brady’s baptism and party. We didn’t get home and into bed until 2AM. Every moment at that party I was calculating in my head how many hours and minutes of sleep I would get if “we left right now.” I have a nursing infant, after all, who does not care that I stayed out late. On the contrary – he picks those nights to screw with me on purpose.
Two days before Halloween we carved a pumpkin. At the pumpkin farm Kyle picked out three pumpkins – a large one, a small one, and a white one, whom he named Silly, Mike, and Dora, respectively. He chose to carve only Silly. Stewart drew two schematics for carving – one scary, one goofy.
What does the scary one say? “Grrr.”
For a child who will dance around in mud, handle crickets and lizards, and draw on the walls with his own poo, Kyle is surprisingly grossed out by pumpkin pulp and refused to touch it. Here he is recoiling from being in the same room with such revolting material.
Kyle chose the goofy faced pumpkin. We failed to get a good picture this year. This will have to do.
We took both kids trick or treating. Kyle wore his Spiderman mask for about two seconds, which, with our awesome camera, was quite long enough to get a snapshot.
Luckily, Gramma had the bright idea to draw a Spiderman face on him with eyeliner. She did a great job. At every house the people would say “Are you Spiderman?” and Kyle would nod and point to his face like, duh, don’t you see the spider face?
And here is one more shot of our little dinosaur, who is wearing the first of many hand-me-down costumes. He is just so cute it makes my heart hurt. I wish he would just stay this little for a while, but he keeps wanting to be fed, which only makes him grow. Rats.

Awww…
I have a lot of old posts floating around in my head; maybe I will just take a cue from you and put them up anyway.
Ok. Your husband drew schematics. For pumpkin carving. He MUST be an engineer!!!
S@L would totally understand.
Kami was surprisingly grossed out by the pulp too. She wouldn’t touch it.
I can’t see the pic of you on Halloween.
For the record, I love it when you post pictures, your kids are so stinkin’ cute they make me smile!!!!
