Just when you thought it was safe to skip your family trip to SeaWorld…
…they go ahead and add some new attractions! SeaWorld San Diego has debuted two new things to experience: One Ocean Shamu Show on Memorial Day weekend the Turtle Reef sea turtle attraction opened on June 18.
What?! Guess it’s time to go back to San Diego. My friend Joanna Hampton recently went with her family and she shared these amazing photos and some great tips for having a super awesome time.
We got there right when the park opened. We immediately went to the tour booth and booked the behind the scenes tour. Nobody else had booked for the first tour so we ended up getting a private tour. The gentleman that led us was so nice and informative (all while walking backwards). A highlight to the tour was the dolphin section. The tour guide took us to the area where the dolphins perform. He was explaining the process for the show when one of the dolphin trainers came up and introduced herself. She allowed the girls to feed the dolphins ice and go much further than the normal tour. It was an experience that we will never forget.
We also booked the “Dine with Shamu.” This was also an excellent experience. The food was wonderful. The trainers came around and let the girls ask individual questions.
We had a great time. One that we will recommend to anyone headed that way. We also have memories that will last forever.
