Today was the last sleep-in day of the summer – tomorrow we will get up early to practice for Wednesday, the first day of school. But today the kids and I wore pajamas until 1:30 when we changed right into our bathing suits. After spending a few hours at the pool around the corner with a couple of friends, we changed back into…basically pajamas. Soft shorts, soft tank tops, and me without a bra. That is how serious I am about taking it easy. Today I did not drive the car. And I loved that so much I will not do it tonight either. Peanut butter and jelly for dinner. Lounging, strolling, lollygagging. The frenzy of the school year will be upon us like a storm in just two days. Until then, I’m relaxing with a purpose, which means the kids, who are all too happy to fall in line, are relaxing too.
Just One Paragraph ?/30
I am *really* bad at relaxing. I’m just too tightly wound, I think. But lately I’ve been dreaming of quiet days like these. Must find one soon.
