It’s almost May, which means Mother’s Day is right around the corner. Why not do something that will help many mothers in the name of your own?
Help a Mother Out celebrates its first birthday – a bittersweet celebration since every year we exist is a year that so many babies are poor and/or homeless – with our second annual Mother’s Day month-long diaper drive. We are having parties in many cities around the country in the month of May. If you are lucky enough to live in one of those cities, I encourage you to attend to meet the fine women who are volunteering their time and talent to make this happen. Truly remarkable people.
My friends in Los Angeles are helping me put together a cocktail party on Saturday evening, May 1. Please check out the details and register for tickets – there are only 50, and only adults are invited. And dude, the Game Truck is coming. That’s worth a drive over the hill right there!
And if you are reading this in New Haven or the surrounding area, please consider showing up to support my friend Tina, whose event will benefit the Connecticut Diaper Bank. Tina hardly hesitated when I asked her to host a party there, even though she’s never done something like this before. And now look – she’s put together a craftacular affair!
Little by little, people who can’t do everything, but can each do something, are coming together to do something big.
