Official Stats

July 13, 2005 Kim Tracy Prince 9 Comments

Kyle had his 3-month checkup today, and with a different doctor, because his doctor is on maternity leave, having just delivered her third child. Glad we got one with hands-on experience.

So the new doctor, a man, seemed nice enough. I think I was a bit leery of him because of that – he’s a man. How the hell does HE know what is up with my child? But Stewart liked him right away, and asked a lot of questions, which he hasn’t done much in the past. I am so proud of him and how much he’s bonded with Kyle. And it will only get better – the doc instructed us to give him a bottle once a day, instead of our “whenever Mom leaves Kyle with Dad” frequency, which turns out to be once or twice a week. So now that it’s prescribed, Dad has to take over a feeding. I am drunk with power. Which one should I pawn off on him? The middle of the night feeding? No – I am too engorged at that time, pretty much leaking through my nightclothes. First thing in the morning? Hmm, no same thing, plus I have to get up anyway to pump. Well that leaves the last feeding of the day, because Dad isn’t home for all the others. Hah! At least one hour of time to myself, and Dad gets that extra bonding time with Kyle. We all win.

You’re dying to know the stats, so here they are:

Weight: 14lbs. 14 oz.
Height: 24 and 3/4″

Then there’s head circumference, in which Kyle is in the lower percentile range, but his head looks perfect to me, so I say that’s all a bunch of hooey.

I prefer women pediatricians also. No matter how wonderful a person or doctor I feel like the mom-doctor has to know more about the “mom” stuff than the dad-doctor!!

Greg hasn’t even met our pediatrician yet, so bonus points to Stewart! Kyle looks adorable. I love the new photo in the about me section.
