The Spirit of Christmas, With a Nice Dollop of EVOO

December 24, 2006 Kim Tracy Prince 9 Comments

Here’s another one to add to the file labeled “People We Don’t Need to See More Of.” As grammatically incorrect as it is, I feel I must have a file like that. Latest entry: Rachael Ray.

I don’t need to see Rachael Ray on my Ritz Crackers or Saltines. I do not need to see her on one more magazine cover. I do not need to watch one of her 342 reality cooking shows. She has entered my consciousness by osmosis. And the final straw? She was on Oprah the other day.

Oprah was once a trendsetter. By sticking Rachael Ray on during this holiday season, I have to say that Oprah is simply pandering to the masses who have already bought into the whole Rachael Ray thing; hook, line, and sinker.

Rachael, you are cute and perky and you’ve retained that layer of chub around your face that makes you look like a human and not the airbrushed fantasy that your advertisers seem to insist upon. I admire your ambition and your cheeky manner. But seriously, can you give us just a tiny little break? Can I turn on the television, grab a snack, or go to the grocery store without seeing your sunshiny face? Can we get a little Grinch in here somewhere?

I know, she is really taking over the food world a bit much… but, I have loved her for years and can’t help but love her still!

Amen to this. I am so sick of that perky smile. Sue loves her, but she makes me gag.

Rayray owes her show to Oprah, whose company produces it, like Dr. Phil.
Hopefully, the sheeple masses will burn out on her everywhere they look and vote with their wallets and remotes to shorten her career.

Rachael Ray is teh hawt! hahahahaha
Actually I HATE almost everything she cooks. Very rarely does she make anything I think I would actually eat.
Giada De Laurentiis > Rahael Ray .. at least as far as cooking goes.

Right on, sistah! I saw that Oprah episode and thought the same thing. I firmly believe Oprah and Disney are trying to take over the world. Rachael Ray is apparently helping Oprah with this. I do wish that chick had a mute button…

Gotta agree — the crackers make me crazy and I am considering boycotting Nabisco and I saw the new magazine the other day. As if it’s not enough, my neighbor is a pastry chef and looks and sounds just like her, too…

I am on the fence when it comes to Rachel Ray. I enjoy her 30 minute meals show and while I don’t know if my family would eat some of the things she prepares — I know I would at least try some of them.
As for her taking over the world I have to say that I do believe giving her her own talk show was a bit much and I haven’t watched it yet.
