Songs That Stab Me in the Heart: “Jessie” by Joshua Kadison

January 31, 2013 Kim Tracy Prince 5 Comments

You might think this one is from the 80’s because YOU HAVE ALWAYS KNOWN IT, and also, his hair. But in fact, it was released in 1993.  Thank you, internet.

I mean, really.

She asked me how the cat’s been, I said, “Moses, he’s just fine.
We used to think about you all the time.
We finally took your pictures down off the wall.
Jessie, how do you always seem to know just when to call?”

Who’s with me?  STAB.  Stabby stabby stab!

I had to comment on this today. I used to love this song. But I was alone — it’s so cheesy I felt like I had to be closeted with my love for “Jessie.” Now I find another thing to love about you KTP. Thanks for sharing!!! XO

I played this CD over and over and freakin’ over.

And there was one video of his where he’s playing the piano in a barn (?) with candles.

Waaaaait a minute…How did I not know that he dated Sarah Jessica Parker and that this song is (rumored to be) about her?!
