The last several days were filled with family togetherness, sand, sulfur-smelling hot springs, snacking, walking, wading, swimming, sleeping, and more snacking. There was some TV in there, and lots of reading and puzzle-putting-together, and coloring, and playing. What there was NOT was me sitting at the computer ignoring my family.
It was awesome.
I did sneak several peeks at the email in-box on my phone, but only to check for incoming work opportunities or emergencies. It was very difficult for me to sever the invisible tie that connects me to my online world. I think next time I unplug, I’ll have to do it for longer. Or maybe I’ll try unplugging and not checking email AT ALL on a regular basis, say, every other Sunday to start.
But for this Sunday, I’m sharing this beautiful sunset with you. (I am inspired to partake in this bloggy exercise by Shanamama.) This photo was taken over Avila Hot Springs, the campground where we stayed last week. In the dark, the place is lovely. During the day, well, let’s just say Stewart and the kids loved it. I still dream of my five star hotel with a fancy pool and cocktails. Soon, dear readers, I will get my wish. Very soon. Mark my words.
Make sure you keep your edgy writing style when you get to that 5-star, missy! Love your blog and posts. And…take your time…the kids won’t love anything at the 5-star except the pool!!!
Gorgeous sunset! Glad you were able to unplug – even if for just a little. It still counts even if the goal was not reached perfectly. As for 5 stars, think of it this way: you were camping so you were sleeping in a 5,000 star hotel! Does that help? …Yeah, I know. It doesn’t. Sorry.
It’s always nice to unplug from the online world and just be with your family. I love your sunset photo, the palm trees with the colors in the background are gorgeous.
