Family "Vacation"

A few weekends ago, Stewart and I took the kids up to Lake Arrowhead. There was little traffic, because of the gas prices, I guess, so it took us 2.5 hours to get there. We stayed for two nights at Auntie Lisa’s family house there, and we were joined by Auntie Lisa and two other families with children.

I’m already tired just remembering it. It was a lovely weekend, but there are lots of stairs to negotiate to get to and from the lake and house, and many treacherous points and slopes and trails and dropoffs for a baby or a distracted 3-year-old. Stewart and I were on constant BradyWatch, mostly.

There are more pictures from the weekend but I only had time to download these two from my friend’s photo site. I’ll show more as I get them.

Kyle and S. chilling on the pier. S. will be moving away in a few weeks. We will miss her.

Brady tries to drive the boat. This kid is fearless. Tonight he climbed into a rescue truck at a police department open house. No hesitation whatsoever.

Great pics! You think Brady is a future firefighter/paramedic like Uncle Kevin.

Kyle is TOTALLY checking out the pretty girl!

  4. Arrowhead is great. Even better when you don’t have to pay to rent a house (or stay at the resort).

It’s not generally uncomplicated to have a effective and hassle totally free trip along with your family, specifically whenever you have children to take care of.
