Well, well, welly welly well. I’ve been tagged twice this week now, by Candy (myunbornjournals.blogspot.com) and by OddMix (oddmix.wordpress.com). Candy got me with the fours list but I did that one awhile back so I’ll go with the Fives brought to me by OddMix. I’m not one to sit out of blog games so here I go, not that I have much of interest to share:
Five items in my freezer
1. Chicken nuggets
2. Assorted frozen fruit
3. Raspberry sherbet
4. Chocolate Tofutti Cuties
5. Homemade strawberry lemonade popsicles
(Yes, Mom, I threw out all of the black bananas)
Five items in the closet:
We have LOTS of closets so I’ll pick just one – the front hall closet
1. My yoga mat
2. Two pairs of hiking boots
3. A beach umbrella
4. Stewart’s golf clubs
5. A coon-skin hat
Five items in the car
1. Two cans of air freshener
2. A musical turtle
3. My Thomas Guide
4. A towel
5. Several half-empty water bottles
Five items in my backpack
1. My wallet
2. My Palm Pilot
3. My keys
4. Several lip glosses and lipsticks
5. Wintergreen Altoids
Five people I tag (I never tag people because I’m too shy but I’ll try this time. Forgive me if you have been tagged already:
Tina (Raising Mommy)
TBG (Daily Dose of Power)
Lisa (The Educator)
Katie (Everybody!)
and I’m going out on a limb here, but let’s go with…
Mom Underground (and hope she doesn’t punch me in the face)

That wasn’t terribly interesting. It was much more interesting when I was transitioning between SAHM life and WM life. Now here I am, a WM, and I am fully transitioned. Although for today through Friday I will be temping as a single WM because Stewart has left the building. He went to visit his parents in Louisiana – hey, just in time for a new hurricane!
I am inspired by Tina to share the (mis)adventures that are sure to ensue during the next five days as I go it alone with my raging toddler. She shared her experiences over at her blog, and they were quite entertaining, so you should check her out. I want to do the same thing, but I also want to share this thought: I hope nobody takes it the wrong way. I have great respect for single mothers and the enormous challenges they face. My dabbling in single parenthood will not even approximate the emotional and physical burden carried by a mom who does it alone all the time. I know that Tina feels the same way, so I feel comfortable speaking for her.
Having said that, won’t you pity me? I had to get up at 5:30 AM to rouse the toddler, drive Daddy to the bus station, then drag myself through the rest of the morning covered in kid snot and unable to shower. Don’t tell my coworkers.

Hoy about sympathy instead of pity? Actually it is more empathy, as I have to be out the door at 5:15 every morning in order to catch my train.
how, not hoy. fat fingers.
BTW, Well done on the meme. I almost tagged Mom Underground, but I’ve never seen a meme on her blog so I didn’t. It will be interesting to see her reaction.
Aww man. I’ll address the tag asap. And yes, you can speak for me. Good luck these next few days!
Plus, I owe you one for explaining to me what a meme is, in the first place.
I have the half-full(?) bottles of water in my car too.
Sending endurance vibes for you during your five day stretch with your kiddo alone. I know gurl….
