That went well.
I got to have my Work at Home Without Kids day this week. On Wednesday Stewart took both kids to daycare and I started working at 8:30 and did not stop until it was time to pick them up at 5:30. Unless you count my quick breaks for showering and lunch, I did not rest for one second.
It wiped me out. I did laundry, I cleaned the kitchen, I read the mail, I did some web-related research. I emptied out my office hutch and dusted it and reorganized it. I organized our ridiculous pile of tax files. I got rid of a big box and a large garbage bag full of unnecessary papers and related crap.
It took me all day to do it, but at least now it’s done, and I can get on with the real work – stuff for Stewart’s company, stuff for my “clients,” my writing. (I put “clients” in quotes because I still can’t quite believe that I have clients.)
Lesson learned, though: I have to pace myself or this is what happens. I am still exhausted two days later. I can barely microwave some soup for Kyle’s lunch. Takes too much energy to press the buttons.
Both kids are napping. Here I come, too.

Maybe it’s becuase I’m pregnant but I find nowadays that if I have a really busy day (like the one you had) it takes me FOREVER to recuperate from it. I totally hear you on this post!
