On the Nose

June 19, 2008 Kim Tracy Prince 4 Comments

Brady is coming along quite nicely. He is different from the way Kyle was at this age in so many ways: he talks less, he walks more and more confidently, he climbs on things, he has crazy little tantrum-like outbursts. I try not to compare, but it’s a knee-jerk response.

His lack of vocabulary allows me the illusion that he is still a baby. Sometimes he even puts his little curly head down on my shoulder for a hug or a snuggle. I squeeze him tightly and feel his little fat body and squeal “My wittle baby!”

Those days are numbered. Last night, I was reading him “B Is For Bear.” We got to the “N” page that has a picture of a little girl pointing to her nose. He took one look at that, then stuck his finger square in the center of MY nose.

Brilliant!

This morning after his bath, I showed Brady his squeaky clean reflection in the mirror, the way I do every time. Instead of me saying “It’s Bra-dee” in a sing-song voice, the way I do every time, he beat me to it: he lit up and cried “BAY-DAY!!!”

He’s getting it.

Oh yeah, such a tough guy with Winnie the Pooh shoes!

very cute. mom said that I did not have words that I USED until the day my sister went to kindergarten – then started talking and never once shut up. I imagine it is a second child thing.

What a big boy! They just grow so much from week to week. I hope they can come and swim next week one day.
