Remember those awesome contests from your teenage years that had you hanging out in the cafeteria after school, filling out 3×5 cards en masse so that yours could be the school with the most cards and you’d win an appearance by Scott Baio?
No? Okay, neither do I. I remember hearing about those contests on the radio and thinking “How hard could that be?”
Now that I’m an adult in the digital age, writing anything with a pen is almost a foreign experience. But luckily, contest organizers have obviously gotten the picture. Even though there’s “no purchase necessary” and you can enter any contest by sending in a 3×5 card that you’ve filled out and mailed with a stamp, there are other, easier ways to get a chance at the grand prize.
The latest school incentive contest makes it easy and convenient. Real California Milk is accepting entries into a sweepstakes for cash prizes for schools – just for sending in the Real California Milk and Real California Cheese seals.
With the escalating budget shortfalls for education, California schools can use any help they can get. You must have already seen umpteen fundraisers pass by you – but how much wrapping paper or cookie dough can you possibly buy? I already pitch in plenty by baking cookies and brownies for the bake sales, contributing to the Parent Faculty Association, cutting out my Box Tops, and volunteering in the classroom. Real California Milk is giving parents yet another way to help the schools earn bonuses with just a little extra effort around the house.
Look for the following seals on your milk and cheese products:
For every 25 seals that teachers collect and send in, the classroom will receive a book from Scholastic, one of the effort’s partners. The big bonus is that for every seal submitted, the school will gain an entry into a sweepstakes that can win up to $20,000! Unlike the Box Tops project that seems to be ongoing, the Real Seal Appeal program is only open until December 31, 2011. So get cracking on those dairy products!
