The Great Help a Mother Out iPad Giveaway at BlogHer ’11 – You Can Win Online,Too

At BlogHer ’11, not one, not two, but THREE iPads will be given away to lucky donors of funds to Help a Mother Out.

WIN:  In person, bring cash to the cocktail party on Thursday night.  For every $5 you donate you get a chance to win one of 2 iPads right there at the party.  Better yet, 5 chances for $20.  There will only be 50 people at this party.  YOU CANNOT PASS THIS UP.  I don’t even have an iPad myself and naturally I won’t be able to enter this giveaway so I’m incredibly jealous.

WIN:  Online – because there are only 50 spots at the party, and not everyone can – or wants to – go to BlogHer ’11.  So all this week, for every online donation of $10 or more, you’re entered to win an iPad.

Guess what – I’m not sponsored this year to attend the BlogHer conference.  I was last year, courtesy of a diaper company that is doing an admirable job of donating millions of diapers to diaper banks in an effort to help the families who can’t make ends meet, and that doesn’t mean their babies should get diaper rash, infections, or worse.  This year, that company is focused on other areas of promotion, so Help a Mother Out and I were left without a bankroll.

We didn’t have a bankroll before, did we?  So we keep on keeping on, and we’re doing our own thing.  It is important for us to promote our cause during BlogHer ’11 – the event at which 3,000 bloggers – both women and men – and marketers and PR folk will gather to talk business and writing and new media.  It’s important for HAMO to have a presence there.  We are becoming more and more recognizable as “the diaper ladies” and we can’t stop now.

Because our cause is so dire, people connect with it.  Other companies connect with it.  After all, companies are run by humans, some of them even generous and kind humans.  That is why I am proud and incredibly grateful to tell you that the following groups and companies have partnered with us:

Momversation.com – You know this site as the place where moms talk about the issues that affect us, and start the conversation so we can all learn from each other.  The company that produces Momversation, DECA, is full of amazingly generous people.  They have donated 2 branded iPads for us to give away.

MomsLA.com – a central hub where you can find the best of LA’s mom bloggers.  They are hosting a cocktail party on Thursday night to kick off the great BlogHer ’11 weekend, and they took us on as their charity partner.

 

Anaheim/Orange County Convention and Visitors’ Bureau – The main sponsor of the cocktail party.  In the fall, this group is holding a great big party with MomsLA, and this little happy hour is just the tip of the iceberg.

YWater – This children’s water brand threw in a third iPad with no expectation.  It was like it fell out of the sky.  Like…rain.  And FWIW, this is not just another water company.  Check them out.
