150 Beats per minute

October 5, 2004 Kim Tracy Prince Leave a Comment

I heard the baby’s heartbeat today. It sounded like it was underwater – “woosh woosh woosh.” It is, in fact, underwater. And, predictably, I cried tears of amazed joy and I wished that Stewart was there to hear it.

The doctor is a new one, but I really like her and I think I’ll keep her. She’s very tall, with a no nonsense manner that is also warm and concerned. Gotta love that in a woman who will be sticking her arm up my crotch in a few months.

Posting is getting difficult because my DSL service is working like a weak cell phone connection: in, out, in, out, can you hear me now? The cause could be either that I have crappy DSL service, or that the dog has managed to chew the phone lines outside the house again. Last Christmas day we discovered that all of our phones were dead. This remained a mystery until Stewart found the mangled phone box behind the birds of paradise bush. We sprayed Bitter Apple on it, hoping the dog would be deterred (when she tastes this, she licks her chops for hours, trying to rid herself of the nastiness). It seemed to have worked…until now, perhaps.
