Hello!
It’s been House of Doctors over the past week: allergist, perinatologist, pediatrician, obstetrician. Hopefully I will avoid doctor’s offices until the next OB checkup in November.
Since I just turned 35, I had to see a perinatologist and get a comprehensive level 2 ultrasound and superfun finger stick for a blood test. My OB had gotten my hopes up that this visit would yield the coveted gender information, but alas, it was too early, and I will probably find out at our next meeting in 5 weeks. Overall the exam was informative and it was cool to see BN2 flopping around in my uterus and waving and stuff. However, the 1.5 hour wait to actually see the doctor quite frankly sucked. It was lunch hour and I was starving.
I was apprehensive about the whole thing because I had no idea what to expect but Lisa, on whose blog I first read the term “AMA” sat down one night and typed out a very long email describing her experience with the situation, and I felt more armed with info, and for that I publicly thank her. Where would I be without my blogsisters and brothers? I totally miss you guys, but as you can see I’ve been kinda busy, and when Kyle naps you had better believe that’s what I’m doing too.
Good night.

I am looking forward to the reveal of the gender of baby #2!
Lisa is awesome, she is so sweet and always there to send you advice when needed!
You’re welcome Kim, I’m certain all is going to be well. Kate, thanks for the compliment!
Keep us posted as to how you are progressing okay? I too am excited to find out what the gender of baby #2 is. I honestly love having a boy and a girl and can tell you this much each is so different from the other personality wise that it’s fun.
GOOD LUCK!!
I went to “AMA” route w/ my last little guy. (Just shy of 36 when he arrived.) Seems like most people are “older” moms these days. I’m sure everything will be just fine!
Always thinking of you! It is nice to hear BN2 updates.
OK, am I the stupid one? What is “AMA”? I can come up with a few guesses but I’d rather someone just told me…
Tina it is Advanced Maternal Age? I think that is what Lisa had told me, because when she posted it I asked her cause I was not sure as well!
Yes, it is “Advanced Maternal Age” … but where I work we prefer “GWC” (“Geezers With Children”) LOL!
Love all the pictures of Kyle. Keep them coming! Everything will be just great. Welcome to the “special Mom over 35” club. All the extra attention you get is kinda cool. Just relax and enjoy it all.
xoxoJen
Duh, I just saw the title of the post. Thanks Kate!
