Highlights:
-I should have slept more last night. Didn’t though, because of Blogger Prom
-21 of us were on the same flight from Los Angeles to Chicago. We called it the Party Plane and Southwest gave us free drinks, and had three of our members pass out the snacks.
-Those 21 people all crammed into a stretch limo and sat in terrible traffic because we were going to the same place as…oh, President OBAMA. Yeah.
-As such we got here later than expected, which meant that I missed all the fabulous free crap I was hoping to score. I mean, who needs a free Kodak video camera when you have scoops and scoops of Legos from the neglected booth in the corner, right? On the other hand, that meant better face time with the people at the parties, and I met some great new contacts, and had face to face viewings of some of my favorite online friends. Many hugs and lots of squeeing.
-Got some good loving and pizza from the folks at Whrrl.
-Took 20 minutes of alone time to change clothes, freshen up, and head out on the trolley to the Silicon Valley Moms Blog party at a fancy rooftop bar. Meeting some of my fellow bloggers from that group and getting my tarot cards read (in which I learned that I am going to see YOU this year, yes YOU) was priceless.
-Crowds and crowds of people who are all here for the same thing, looking mildly to very fabulous
In general, I am overwhelmed with emotion, actually. This little thing that I jumped into almost five years ago has turned into such an amazing community of driven, empathetic, and inspiring writers who challenge me to raise the bar. I’ve watched the BlogHer conferences online in years past, and I’m happy to be here in person, finally.
At the end of the day, I miss my family, but I’m not gonna lie: I’m looking forward to sleeping in this cushy hotel bed, and not being woken up at 6AM by Brady screaming “DADDY!”
Oh that sounds like a good first night! I am not at BlogHer this year, however, I really really hope to meet up next year! Enjoy your time, I will be reading along. @brandyellen

Thanks for the SITS love. I am new to SITS and can’t understand how you found me! Please email to tell me how it works? ktphop@gmail.com
The hardest part about BlogHer is getting over the feeling that you are perpetually missing out on SOMETHING big. It took me three years to learn that. This year was just pure fun.
