We “videophone” my parents using a little Logitech webcam and Skype. The webcam was a gift but easily found at an office supply or computer supply store. Easy to install and configure, too. Skype can be downloaded for free here. Make sure you download the right version. The old ones don’t have video chat capability.
Kyle usually wiggles out of my lap ASAP but he is getting a little bit more tolerant of late. This morning he stared at the computer in awe as he watched my mom saying “Hi Kyle! Hi Sweetie!” The best moment so far was a few months ago when my grandparents came over to my parents’ house and got in on the hot internet video action. My grandfather took a minute to understand that it was happening in real time. Three thousand miles away!
