Well, it’s Saturday so I guess you can assume I went and had a baby on Wednesday. Here he is!


On Wednesday morning I was 3cm dilated and 80% effaced – favorable conditions for induction, so the doctor happily agreed to make it happen. We left the office to go back home and gather my things and say goodbye to Kyle and Grampa. We didn’t rush – I even had a small meal because I expected to be in labor all day without food. Boy was I in for a treat.
I was in the bed with the pitocin drip by 12:15. Then someone pushed FF and in a rush of excitement the baby came out four and a half hours later in 6 pushes. Yes, I did have the epidural.

Auntie Lisa and Auntie Katie arrived just in time but everything happened so fast that they watched with Stewart from the sidelines.


Four days later it still feels unreal. We are home and the house is filled with the noise of a 2-year-old, every so often punctuated by the squeaky yaps of a hungry newborn who sleeps most of the time.

He is golden and round and pink and precious. We are so lucky. Thanks to all of you out there who were praying for and thinking about us.

    He’s gorgeous! And what a big boy, too! So happy to hear everything went well. You look amazing in those photos, particularly the hospital pics. You definitely don’t look like a woman who’s just given birth! Must be the California glam way. 🙂

    Wish I had the internet when I had my babies. My baby boys came first, boys make my heart melt!!! My baby girls came next, because I just loved having babies 🙂

    Hooray! Hooray for Brady! And hooray for the easy delivery! Isn’t it great when you’re expecting this long ordeal and then it happens in the blink of an eye? I’d have 20 more if it weren’t for the freaking pregnancy part.

    Oh wow, he’s a little blondie! Where does that come from? I don’t remember that from Kyle’s photos. His hair and eyebrows are so fair, or maybe that’s just the way the photos came out. Does he look like Kyle when Kyle was born? I take that back: he looks like Brady when Brady was born. We won’t compare.:-)

    Yeah! Loved the pics that Stewart sent, but these are even better. I love the face. He looks a little concerned to be out in the world. Glad he is sleeping well for you.

    I still can’t believe how fast Brady arrived. What a crazy day! By the way, for those of you who are wondering, that is indeed the color of his hair and eyebrows. Brady, of course, being the perfect name for such an Irish-looking little boy. SO CUTE!
