Many Things Are Afoot

March 29, 2008 Kim Tracy Prince 4 Comments

Dear internet readers, I have been avoiding you. It’s the same old dilemma: where do I start? There are so many things going on these days that I have too many posts and not enough time to get them organized, just like the rest of my life. Therefore, I present the tired and insufficient, but-will-have-to-do-for-now, bullet post.
  • This week my dad is visiting, doing work with me and Stewart on our business venture, which will hereafter be referred to as The Company. We had a very professional meeting with a web designer in my messy kitchen with the baby on my lap. All hail the age of working from home! We also had several days during which every nut and bolt that makes up the Pegasus Fuel Injection system was spread out on the floors, counters, and tabletops in the entire house. I gave the men a daily deadline of 5:30 PM to have these things spirited away so that the children would not fling them around or mistake them for candy.
  • For Easter vacation we went to Louisiana to visit Stewart’s mother and brother and sister-in-law and nephew. On Good Friday the men (including Kyle) went to a lake and motored out among the cypress knees to scatter the ashes of Stewart’s father. I believe some beer was poured into the water, as a tribute. The women and baby were left behind. Kyle remembers the trip as the first time in his life that someone allowed him to drink soda.
  • I have a new unhealthy obsession with thinking about losing weight. I think about it, talk about it, read about it. I do everything short of actually doing it. I rationalize this away as preparation.
  • My success with the fabulous consignment sale is still not conclusive. I spent $70 at the preview sale, during which I sold $70 worth of stuff, so that part was good. Since then, however, I’ve only moved $30 in more merchandise. I do love what I bought, though. The kids’ birthday gifts, some pajamas, a treat for my sister, shoes for the baby, a birthday gift for another child, etc.
  • I’m also still obsessed with decluttering my house and I can’t seem to ever get around to doing that, either, but I did make some progress today. The inventory project for the company actually resulted in The Company part of our garage being cleaned out and reorganized, so I did the same for the Great Mountain of Laundry, under which lived various bags and boxes of donatable or recyclable stuff. I rifled through it all, organized it, and posted many entries on Freecycle.
  • LA Daddy is moving. Moving! Away from Los Angeles! How could he? We just met.
  • I will post photos from the Easter trip, I promise. In the meantime, here are my two babies, who both still poop in their diapers. That story and all of its potty-training madness are for another post.

The fuel injection stuff sounds sexy. Will the website include a picture of you getting all “Whitesnake” on the parts in the near future? Or maybe Stewart could get all oiled up, smear some grease on himself and hold up a wrench or something?
I guess I’m not your demographic. Ahem.

Yeah, I read about LA Daddy. What a shock. Hopefully he’ll keep us up to date on LA Family’s activities. I like the suggestion by one of his commenters to rename his blog OH Daddy.

Hmmmm….. know nothing about “The Company” kind of stuff, but hope it is very successful! I promise you, they will both give up pooping in their diapers by high school. If for no other reason than they will realize getting a date will be impossible until they do 😉

Hang in there Kim. I have tried doing the overly nice thing to people who are mean to me, but unfortunately, I am much more of a B2#$@# to those who are close to me. I’m working on it.
We officially started potty training yesterday. It lasted literally 5 minutes, when Jax had a potty accident and completely freaked out, melting down with repeated sobs of “I don’t like underwear”.
Today we changed from the “cold turkey” approach to pull ups, but that was a little battle. I hope I have not scared him already.
