…squishy baby heads and scrawny little butts. The yap sessions that lasted four hours every evening. Explosive poops. PROJECTILE poops. The great sweet smell of baby. Eight diaper changes a day. Being VERY tired. Drinking real milk from a straw. Writing down every feeding session and what side it was on. Getting pissed because I couldn’t find my little notebook where I wrote down the last feeding session. Worrying about when I was going to call everybody back. People who showed up at our house with casseroles and watermelon. WATERMELON. Tiny 0-3 month onesies, and thinking they looked TOO BIG on Kyle. Figuring out the right pacifier by trial-and-error.
Oh yeah. I’ve got it. The show I’m working on makes me watch footage of newborn babies and their neurotic parents ALL DAY LONG. While I thought it would make me NOT want to have another baby, it is in fact having the opposite effect.
Crap.

another baby would be fabulous you are doing so great with Kyle! You guys make beautiful babies!
Um, yeah, why do you think I had 3???
Hah!
I could have told you THAT was going to happen – and I am a male, 3000 miles away, whom you have never met. *snigger*
Well, IMNSHO (In My Not-So-Humble Opinion) you will do the same fabulous job with Number Two that you are doing with Kyle.
Yep, been there. Right about now in Juliette’s baby days is when I started saying to Greg that maybe it was a good time to have another one.
But now that Cosette is at that age? I’m just happy to get some sleep.
OK, I know I don’t have any kids yet so I have an entirely different perspective but man I can’t WAIT for all of those things! Teeny-tiny onesies? Love it! Breast feeding? Can’t wait! Sleepless nights? Bring ’em on!!!
Oh, sweet Lisa, be very careful what you wish for. Those sleepless nights are NOT fun, or haven’t you been listening to your sister?
