The ball started rolling a while back when I got my first free product in the mail to review online. Then, ever so slowly, it gathered speed. Now it’s going down the hill at a good clip – not too fast to handle, but stuff is coming, dudes, and I don’t think it’s gonna stop.
I have two products sitting here that I have to write about – I’ve tested them, actually really like them, and I’m waiting for the right time and opportunity to post about them. (There’s that phrase again, “waiting for the right time,” – when am I going to learn?) More stuff is on the way for me to review for you, my online audience, and the audience here, here, and here.
I just wanted to take a moment to throw it out to you. What do you think about these reviews? So far on this site I’ve only reviewed things about which I have a very strong opinion and that opinion rises spontaneously. In other words, unsolicited. Now I am entering the world of blogger PR. I’m not getting paid to write reviews, but I am getting free stuff, like that awesome trip to SeaWorld.
I won’t lie to you, Internet. I won’t tell you something is awesome if it sucks, or if it is even just okay. I will tell the truth. That’s why you come here (okay, that’s why some of you come here…the majority of you just come for the pictures of the kids). That’s why Big Marketing wants bloggers to talk about their stuff, because they know people trust us. If they have a great product, and we say so, people are likely to believe us.
I won’t abuse that trust.
With that, I leave you one little unsolicited review: the price of coffee is ERRR-diculous, so I’ve been buying beans in bulk at Costco. The brand is Newhall Coffee Roasting Company, and it’s about $6 a pound. It’s a good standby coffee. I prefer Dunkin’ Donuts (shut up, haters) (oh, and Dunkin’ Donuts? I will RAVE about you if you send me free coffee) but this Newhall stuff keeps me going on a daily basis, and I thank it every morning.
The best coffee I ever bought, and I’ve bought some excellent coffee, was the Costco Kirkland brand in the Costco in Kirkland. You can buy the beans straight from the roaster and they are fragrant and hot. Awesome.
yeah for reviews!!!!
Don’t worry, I have plenty D&D on hand at home. No need to go there and buy it when you come visit to see Dominick. Oh, and I have other goodies for you too!
love costco coffee too! I hope they start sending you coffee too.
Now Whit is trying to convince me to move to Seattle on other people’s blogs. Won’t that man ever stop?
D&D is #3 on Dave’s Long Whiny List of Things L.A. Is Missing, right after “Decent Bagels” and “Public Transportation That Gets You Where You Need to Go”, and just ahead of “Good Pizza”.
