One thing I really enjoy is coming to my computer, reading comments on my blog, then checking all of the blogs I read. On a great day, each of those blogs has a new post. To honor that idea, I want to try to post something new every day. I wanted to tell you this a few days ago, but our pooping situation spread to the whole family and included puking as well.
I can’t remember the last time I puked. I do remember some pretty standout pukathons, including one time after a wedding Stewart and I attended, got really, really trashed, then left a message for our friends on their answering machine that was drunk and hilarious and all the funnier because neither of us remembered leaving it or even calling them in the first place. They saved it for quite a long time afterwards, and played it for us every time we came over. Here’s a partial transcript:
(both very drunk and slurring all words)
S: Thanks for driving us home, tonight!
K: (singing) Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you…
S: Hey! I have a joke!
K: Hahaha! What?
S: Why don’t cannibals eat clowns?
K: Why?
S: Because they taste funny!
K: Haha! We should hang up now! Haha!
S: Okay!
K: Say goodbye, Stewart!
S: Goodbye Stewart! Haha!
Anyway, the point is, I definitely puked the next morning. Stewart went and got us some pho, a Vietnamese soup that is a pretty good cure for hangovers. I don’t think I puked after my wedding, during which I got famously inebriated in a stellar white trash display of abandon. Here’s me, working on my buzz. I’m sure there have been other times that my friends will remind me of, but please be kind. This is a family blog. My mother reads it every day.
Having not been recently acquainted with the feeling, I was unprepared for how unpleasant the sensation of yarfing used to be. It really does suck. A lot. I got sick Thursday night and then Stewart got sick Friday morning, which meant mommy and daddy laid around on the furniture all day Friday while Kyle played on the floor with his toys and routinely popped up to say hello. He worked on chewing his toys, crawling into the mirror to butt heads with his friend Kyle, and pulling up on the couch and coffee table to cruise. He had a good day. No puking for the baby, thank goodness.
After the worst had passed, Stewart remarked that one doesn’t appreciate how great water tastes until one is sick. Too true, grasshopper, too true.
We finally felt good enough to venture outside this morning. We dared to dress the baby in his special Hiking Outfit, pack him into the special Hiking Backpack, and take him up to the hiking trails that mommy and daddy used to visit every Sunday before mommy got as big as a whale and unable to climb a flight of stairs much less several small hills. Pictures of the cuteness will come as soon as our Hiking Partner, Marshall, emails them to me.
Moral of the story is, I wanted to blog for you, I really really did, but I was too busy recovering from my hangover. I mean, my stomach bug.

Well I am glad you are feeling better now.
And I look forward to your daily blogging!
Yes, Mom reads this blog EVERY DAY. Dad looks for the pictures.
So glad you and Stew are feeling better. Give me Marshall’s email; I’ll pester him for you….
Oh, you did NOT puke after your wedding…I ran when the pail from the bathroom came out – just in case….
I still love looking at the wedding pictures. Thanks for the unexpected treat!
Glad you are feeling better and I, too, look forward to more frequent posts and cute pics!
