Last year at this time I caught a nasty cold. Not the flu, of course, considering my crusade to get the flu shot. I did the same thing this year, although it wasn’t as hard. All I had to do was say to my doctor “Do you have the flu shot?” and they stuck me. Good service.
But now I have the same cold as Kyle, and we’re both getting worse. Enough that I called both of our doctors this morning…(hmm they haven’t called me back yet. Time to go into Paranoid First-Time Mom mode and call them repeatedly until I get an answer I like). I am wandering around the house fawning over my baby and feeling oh so sorry for myself, but he seems to be ignoring it. He’s happy and cheerful and squeaky as ever.
And he WAVED AT DADDY this morning! All by himself! Without Stewart waving to him first! We were both so proud of him we clapped and cooed and smiled and said “Yay!” It was like that moment in Castaway when Tom Hanks dances around on the beach yelling “I! HAVE MADE FIRE!” Except Kyle looks a lot cuter in a loincloth.
