Before I get into the actual post, let me just whine for a second. Kyle and I have been sick since last Wednesday. That means this is the SIXTH day of our cold. It got a lot worse before it’s getting better, let me just tell you. Waaaaah.
My mother emailed me a link to my little brother’s blog this morning. He is at the fire academy now, learning how to be a real fireman. He’s been with the fire department for a long time now as a paramedic, so I knew this was coming, but I’m still sort of in shock about it all. Usually firefighters come from a long line of firefighters, right? I mean, I’ve seen Backdraft and Ladder 49. That’s how it’s supposed to work! Nobody in our family has done such a dangerous job. The most dangerous thing anyone in our family has done is tend bar on the Metro North line, as far as I know. Oh, and my husband, who doesn’t really count, used to be a pipefitter on an oil rig out in the Gulf of Mexico. But that was a long time ago. Now he just works with noxious chemicals on a daily basis.
Anyway. I hope Kevin keeps it up because his blog is already very interesting. We don’t have to scold him for bad spelling because it seems like he’s really, really tired.

AHH your brother is so cute!
Wow a fire fighter that is pretty cool!
No dangerous careers in my family!
Great picture! Hehehehe! Is that one of the Venice canals?
WOW – could those two boys possibly look any more alike???!!!
Your brother is NOT going to want to hear this, but HOW CUTE! Blog and all.
He’s living every little boy’s dream!
(and how brave and manly he is for embracing danger, ahem)
