In my move to WordPress and my general resolution to pare down the clutter of my online obligations, I considered leaving the BlogHer Publishing Network. You may recall that the ad widget (to the right) did not appear until just yesterday. Well, the “White Trash Mom Easter Basket” got such amazing traffic from the network that I couldn’t bear to get rid of it. Apparently the BPN is full of people who have a sense of humor about white trash. Who knew?
Representatives from the network helped me to make a page on this site that is reserved for product reviews and giveaways and promotional blah blah by directing me to this post on Desperately Seeking WordPress – “5 Steps To a BlogHer-Approved Giveaways Page on WordPress.” I had to do a little bit of finagling, which you’ll see me note in the comments section there, but eventually I got it to work!
And so I present my Swag of the Day section (link above) where my thoughts about products, services, and giveaways will appear. If you’re a PR rep or a marketing person, this is good news for you, because that means I won’t have any restrictions about reviews. However, if you want your product to appear on my front page, you may purchase an advertisement for the sidebar, because I’m now accepting ads too. A girl’s gotta pay the new expensive mortgage.
