Holy comments, Batman. There were 504 qualifying entries for this contest, and lots of spam and people who didn’t follow the rules. Many bloggers who run giveaways offer extra entries when you subscribe to the blog or tweet about the contest or like it on Facebook, etc. But I don’t have you do that. It’s too much trouble for me to track them, plus who has time to do all that clicking? This one was easy to enter, but still I was especially pleased by the people who showed they actually read the post before entering. I hope you’ll be back, people!
As with everything new I try using WordPress, managing the comments took some serious research and fooling around with plugins and coding, which I only know enough to make me dangerous. Thank goodness I didn’t break the blog! I found a plugin called phpMyAdmin that allows you to export comments to an Excel spreadsheet, which makes it much easier to sort through them and delete spam or people who didn’t follow the rules.
Then, with a quick use of Random.org, the winner was identified!
